SWOT

STRENGTH
  • Cost-effective solutions because of its strong in-house R&D

WEAKNESS

  • Seen as a manufacturing company

OPPORTUNITY

  • The neo-networks that are being planned in the country

THREAT

  • The existing integrators like Datacraft, IBM, and 3D networks latching on to the telecom space

With a healthy growth of over 116 percent and total business revenue of Rs 377.95 crore, ARM Ltd has once again bounced back to the top league. It is today, one of the largest private sector telecom equipment manufacturers and turnkey solution providers to the cellular, fixed, Internet, and satellite service providers in the country. The reason for its consistent growth lies in its strong in-house technology team and the expansion of its product range to cover a broad spectrum of telecom products and accessories. Today, the company has four manufacturing units, five service units apart from a technology center in Hyderabad, and an intellectual capital of over 1,000 well-qualified employees.

In the new emerging scene of core networks being built by the new telcos, ARM chanced upon a major opportunity and bagged some key orders like: VSNL, Mumbai, and the Satyam Infoway project. ARM’s positioning as a "one-stop-shop" for the needs for emerging communication equipment and related services of the service providers, has augured well for its growth.

While the bulk of its revenues have come from cables (JFT cables accounting for Rs 137.97 crore and OFC for Rs 90 crore), the supply of transmission equipment like the microwave radio and optical transmission equipment, brought it Rs 79.48 crore.
