The company has registered a turnover of Rs 102 crore in its very first year
of operation. To meet the requirements of the Indian market, the company has set
up a manufacturing capacity in Noida for CDMA WLL systems.
The company manufactures STAREX-WLL that consists of base station controller,
base station transceiver subsystem, base station manager and fixed subscriber
unit. On the handset front, the company has launched LG-DM110 CDMA/AMPS dual
mode phone with a talk time of 150 minutes. This fiscal the company is planning
to launch LG-SD500 in the Indian market.
Some of the major orders bagged by the company include BSNL’s urban order
worth 56,000 terminals (fixed and mobile), rural order for BSNL worth Rs 120
crore for 20,000 fixed terminals, rural order worth Rs 1,000 crore for
infrastructure and fixed terminals; and rural order worth Rs 220 crore for
terminals to name a few. The company has also bagged orders from Shyam Telelink
and Tata Teleservices for fixed wireless terminals.
The company is planning to set up sixteen technical support centers across
the country to meet customer needs for technical support and services by
December 2001. The company is also planning to launch new CDMA handsets in the
IS-95A and IS-95C. In the second year, the company is looking at a sales figure
of Rs 1,000 crore and it seems that it will far exceed the expectation.
