SWOT |
STRENGTH: Wide range of turnkey telecom engineering solutions
WEAKNESS: Yet to gain a foothold in ‘B’ class cities
OPPORTUNITY: Spurt in public network projects
THREAT: National NIs getting into turnkey solutions |
From a telecom cabling company to an ISO 9001 certified
telecom turnkey player, Supreme has indeed come a long way. In the FY 2000-01,
the company has shown a growth of 37 percent and has registered a turnover of Rs
87.08 core. The company continues to maintain its edge in the utilities and
public networks (non-DoT) segment. It bagged major projects from Tata Cellular,
Sky Cell, Western Railway and Indian Oil Corporation, etc. During the last
fiscal, Supreme has also bid for projects in countries like Ghana, Dubai and
Mauritius.
Supreme’s main project areas include optical fiber
communication networks, digital multiplexing systems, microwave and wireless
communication systems. Its technical capability ranges from switching to
transmission, wired and wireless connectivity solutions, SDH, PDH, DWDM and IP,
etc. Supreme has identified banking, basic and cellular telephony, ISPs, power
utilities and the Railways as major thrust areas to provide infrastructure
services, customized solutions and professional services. The company has
chalked out major expansion plans for markets in India and abroad. Plans are
afoot to spread its operations into ‘B’ class cities apart from
strengthening its position in metros. It has recently tied up with Avitech AB of
Sweden, a leading supplier of radio coverage for marketing and installing their
GSM repeaters.
