SWOT

STRENGTH: End-to-end solutions architect and implementation ability
WEAKNESS: Seen as a cabling architect
OPPORTUNITY: From big integrators like Wipro, Datacraft, and IBM who can take up very large contracts
THREAT: The new service providers and the Asian market

It was an impressive year for this independent technology solution provider. It posted a record turnover of Rs 84.39 crore and became flush with funds following the acquiring of the consulting group of NetSol by Intel. With the sale of its consulting capability, NetSol focused on its core business of network and system integration, as well as managed services.

The prime reason for NetSol being the most successful of the integration specialists in the mission critical environments is due to its focus as an vendor-independent player and its skill sets to address complex and converging network architectures. That is why it is the most reliable name in key verticals like finance and IT. In fact in 2000-01, out the total pie of Rs 84.39 crore, these two sectors alone contributed to about 85 percent of the total share. It bagged almost all the major banking integration deals of the year— the ICICI Group countrywide WAN implementation, NABARD structured cabling and EPABX installation etc.

There is no denying the fact that domain knowledge in the key vertical segments helps, but it has been observed that NetSol won purely on its technology understanding and implementation skills. Furthermore, NetSol does end-to-end work. It is there in the physical layer integration, voice integration, and in the business application integration areas like the call center/managed services, network management/security, and software integration.
