NEW DELHI: RailTel, an arm of Indian Railways, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with DMRC for providing Wi-Fi facilities in five metro stations in Delhi.

RailTel will enable the Wi-Fi facility in five stations namely Rajiv Chowk Station, Kashmere Gate Station, Vishwavidyalaya Station, Central Secretariat Station, Hauz Khas Station for DMRC. These stations are few of the busiest metro stations catering to a huge numbers of passengers daily.

The Wi-Fi facility will enable passengers to stay connected via high speed internet on the go as access to broadband is the first step to achieve the objectives laid down under Digital India program.

RailTel, a premiere telecom infrastructure provider, is already providing Wi-Fi facility in a number of Railway stations like New Delhi, Bangalore City etc and is in the process of providing Wi-Fi to all major railway stations.

The MoU was signed in the presence of R K Bahugna, CMD, RailTel, Mangu Singh, MD, DMRC, N K Gupta, Director Finance, RailTel, Sharat Sharma, Director Operations, DMRC, and other senior officials of RailTel and DMRC at DMRC headquarter.
