Airtel Xstream Play reaches 5 Million paid subscribers

In a statement released today, Bharti Airtel said that its video streaming service, Airtel Xstream Play, reached the five million paying subscriber mark in October and is still the nation's fastest-growing OTT aggregator. With a single login, search, and subscription, Airtel Xstream Premium, which was introduced in February 2022, collects content from several top video apps.

In accordance with Airtel, the largest collection of OTT material available in India is offered by Airtel Xstream Play, which is reportedly available as a single app. With a minimum recharge of Rs 148, users can access premium content from partners like Sony LIV, Lionsgate Play, Chaupal, Hoichoi, FanCode, ManoramaMax, ShemarooMe, Alt Balaji, Ultra, ErosNow, EPICon, Docubay, and Playflix, as well as watch more than 40,000 movie and television titles from 20 content partners on the Airtel Xstream app.

In addition, Bharti Airtel provided user interest data on the app's viewing habits. In its press statement, Airtel noted that a variety of series, films, and sporting material had recently attracted a lot of user attention on the platform. Series accounted for 47% of time spent on the platform, with films coming in second place with 37% of time, headed by regional blockbusters. Additionally, users began to favour sporting content.

In a statement regarding the achievement, Airtel Digital stated: "Although India has more than 40 OTT apps and a variety of premium video content, finding and paying for this material is difficult. The most comprehensive collection of premium OTT apps can be found under one app at a single fee thanks to Airtel Xstream Play. With the most extensive range of premium content and twenty million subscribers, we recently added Alt Balaji, Fancode, and Playflix, bringing us even closer to our goal."
