Reliance Jio
Reliance Jio in its AGM 2022 declared that its 5G network will go live in India from Diwali, which falls later this month.
Before expanding to other areas, Jio 5G will first be offered in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. As per the company, it will take nearly 18 months for the network to reach maturity.
Jio 5G services will rely on a freestanding(SA) 5G structure, which offers superior latency and faster connectivity in comparison to a Non-standalone(NSA) structure. It's Standalone network will utilize an entirely different infrastructure that will be completely independent of the current 4G network infrastructure.
However, the telecom company asserts that because of its convergent network infrastructure, it will be simple to convert from a 4G network to 5G. Jio's 5G will run on a locally produced hardware, software and network infrastructure. Regarding the prices of the 5G tariff plans, Mukesh Ambani asserted that they would be the lowest in the entire globe.
Airtel
Airtel has begun deploying 5G in 8 cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, and Bangalore.
Airtel has partnered with Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung as network collaboration to provide 5G services across the nation. Yet it is still unknown whether the network will be available in certain parts of the aforementioned cities or cover the entire cities.
A crucial component of the the 5G network, Massive Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output( MIMO) technology was introduced by Airtel in India back in 2017. Bangalore and Kolkata among several other regions in India are already using the technology.
According to the reports, Airtel’s 5G plans will be priced at current 4G plans until a new tariff scheme is rolled out.

Vodafone Idea (Vi) is also prepared to launch 5G in India soon. The company has recently upgraded its 4G network with 5G architecture and additional technologies like Dynamic spectrum refarming (DSR) and MIMO but is yet to provide a definite launch date. Ex Vodafone Idea MD and CEO Ravinder Takkar had earlier stated that, " our network is fully 5G prepared and we are ready to introduce 5G in the country after the 5G spectrum auction." Vi 5G tariff plan pricing is still unknown.
