Amazon online store has suffered a global outage on Monday, including India. Users are trying and failing to either log in to their app or website and place orders. The users are also not able to access detailed product page as well. This has led to several users reporting Amazon down on social media sites.
Amazon Down Globally
According to Downdetector, the online store of the e-commerce company has been down since Monday morning. The website reported that the outage started around 7 AM. The issue peaked at around 9:05 AM, with over 700 reports on the website. It reported that while 65% users reported problems with opening website, 23% had issues with login and 12% with check-out.
Downdetector also showed a massive spike in problems on Amazon.in. The website mentioned that most of the Indian users were facing issues with logging in and checking out of the website.
Amazon has since said that the company was working to resolve the issue.
In the meanwhile, users have taken to Twitter to talk about the same. A Twitter hashtag about Amazon down has also been trending.

This issue is not unique for the e-commerce giant. In May, Amazon had suffered a brief outage in some parts of India. Back then, the outage had affected its website and shopping experience for several users. However, the company had fixed the issue in about 2 hours.
Last year in November, Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud arm of the company, suffered a huge outage in the US region. That outage had affected a variety of website and on AWS, and the company had taken a couple of hours to fully reinstate services.
