Bank of Baroda launches Chillr mobile app

NEW DELHI: Country's public sector bank, Bank of Baroda (BoB) launches Chillr Mobile app and becomes the first public sector bank to partner with Chillr.

"Chillr, often described as 'whatsapp for money', is India's first-of-its-kind multi bank payment application," the company stated. According to the company statement released to media, Chillr makes it possible to send money instantly to anyone in your phone book without having to know the recipients account details. It also supports mobile recharges, utility bill payments and payments at online and offline stores. Unlike wallets, Chillr lets you keep the money in your savings bank account till the point of actual expense.

The BoB-Chillr association is aimed at providing the customers with a secure and an instant money transfer facility to any contact in their phonebook.

Chillr is directly linked to the customer’s bank account and can transfer money to any person in India, once he/she downloads the app and registers.

The sender selects the recipient from his contact list, enters the amount to be transferred and mPIN, and the receiver instantly gets the money in his bank account.  “The app is presently available on Android platform and will be made available on IOS and Windows platform shortly. Utility bill  and merchant payments on Chillr app will be enabled for BOB customers soon," said K Venkateswarlu, General Manager, Digital Banking, Bank of Baroda.

" Through Bank of Baroda and its brand legacy, we hope to deliver seamless and fast money payment and transfer services to all its customers. We aspire to create and make available a platform for digital money to a larger audience and this tie-up is one step towards that goal," said Sony Joy, Founder and CEO, Chillr remarked on the development.
