Bihar sees the highest surge in phone subscriptions in September, 2022

When it comes to the state that has seen the greatest increase in phone connections, Bihar is out in the lead.

There were in total about 1171.92 million telephone connections overall by the end of September, this year, including 26.47 million landline connections and 1145.45 million wireless connections, as stated by the DoT report.

When it comes to the state that has seen the greatest increase in phone connections, Bihar is out in the lead. Keep in mind that both wireless and wired connections are included in this data on telephone connections provided by the Department of Telecommunications(DoT).

In the month of September, this year, Bihar added the greatest number of new telephone connections. Additionally, in October also Bihar turned out to be on top in addition of telephone connections.

Bihar saw an increase of nearly 113,136 telephone connections, as revealed by the DoT's monthly performance report, accompanied by Assam with 97,331 connections and Punjab with an addition of 83,320 connections.

Although, it is interesting to observe that one state has added the maximum telephone connections during the past few months, however it must not be forgotten that one of the states with the highest population is Bihar.

There was a decrease in the number of phone connection overall in a few states including Kerala, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana.

With 26.77 million landline users and 1143. 46 million wireless consumers, the total dropped to 1170.23 million during the month of October. Therefore, even if the overall number of telephone subscriptions saw a decrease, the number of wireline connections experienced a surge, indicating a rising demand for fixed-line broadband connections.

In India, private telephone connections existent summed up a total of 89.62% of the market in September this year, compared to public telephones' share of 10.38%. The government sector's percentage was 10.43% in August, while the private sector's percentage was 89.57%.
