Bihar saw an increase of nearly 113,136 telephone connections, as revealed by the DoT's monthly performance report, accompanied by Assam with 97,331 connections and Punjab with an addition of 83,320 connections.
Although, it is interesting to observe that one state has added the maximum telephone connections during the past few months, however it must not be forgotten that one of the states with the highest population is Bihar.
There was a decrease in the number of phone connection overall in a few states including Kerala, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana.

With 26.77 million landline users and 1143. 46 million wireless consumers, the total dropped to 1170.23 million during the month of October.
