Bharti Airtel, one of India’s leading telecommunications services provider today announced the launch of its 5G services in Patna.
In contrast to competitor telco, Reliance Jio, which is primarily focusing on cities, Bharti Airtel has been steadily rolling out its '5G Plus services' at Airports along with cities since the launch of its 5G services at the beginning of last month.
Currently operational at Patna Sahib Gurudwara, Patna Railway Station, Dak Bunglow, Maurya Lok, Bailey Road, Boring Road, City Centre Mall, Patliputra Industrial Area and few other select locations. Airtel will augment its network making its services available across the city in due course of time. Airtel 5G Plus service is also available at Patna's Jai Prakash Narayan airport, making it the first airport in the state to enjoy ultrafast 5G service.

Additionally, Airtel has been constantly launching its 5G services at significant airports simultaneously. Starting with Terminal 2 of Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airtport which was followed by Pune's Lohegaon Airport, which was then joined by Varanasi's Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport and Nagpur's Baba Saheb Ambedkar International Airport and now finally Patna's Jai Prakash Narayan Airport is also powered by Airtel's 5G plus network.
The new terminal in Bengaluru, Pune, Varanasi, Nagpur and Patna are the airports that now have Airtel 5G Plus.
While Jio on the other hand has so far deployed its 5G network in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Varanasi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Nathdwara and lately in each of Gujarat's 33 district headquarter locations.
Jio plans to reach the entire country with its 5G network by March 2024, whilst Airtel has set a deadline to make its 5G services widespread across the country by December of 2023.
