Coders sign up for SnackDown 2019; cash prizes worth $20,500 awaits at this programming championship

The world of competitive programming is abuzz with talk of SnackDown 2019 -- the fifth edition of CodeChef’s global programming championship. CodeChef, once again, is inviting programmers from all over the world to compete for the coveted title of ‘SnackDown Champion’. The last date for registration is October 16, 2018.

Registration is open to anyone who enjoys coding and has access to the Internet. If your idea of fun is racking your brains over an intense coding problem and you would like a shot at being crowned the best among the best, get ready with your team and register now for SnackDown 2019.

This year’s competition prize pool includes cash prizes worth $20,500 and goodies worth $10,000 for the top 300 teams. In addition, finalists will win an all-expenses paid trip to India for the onsite Grand Finale. Above all, the winners will have bragging rights as champions of one of the world’s largest and most prestigious open coding competitions. With SnackDown champion status comes the attention of the coding media and countless other exciting opportunities for personal and professional growth.

“With new registrations coming in every minute, the fifth edition of SnackDown promises to surpass the scale and grandeur of our previous competitions. We are all in for a thrilling ride. Once again, to encourage programming amongst women as well as young school students, we have added additional slots for 3 school teams and 3 all-girl teams, from India and one school team and one all-girl team internationally. The finals will take place in the second week of February in India,” said Anup Kalbalia, BU Head, CodeChef.

The online qualification round begins on October 12th. Five online rounds will narrow down thousands of teams to 58 teams who will then compete on-site in India in the SnackDown Grand Finale – a gathering of the greatest coding minds on the planet.
