“Hillsboro is a growing hotspot for businesses, both large and small,” said Genius Wong, President, Global Network, Cloud and Data Center Services at Tata Communications. “We are happy to extend our international transmission and IP network point-of-presence in Hillsboro, Oregon. This partnership will support the broadening of the customer base for both organizations. The facility will enable service providers and large enterprise customers in the US and in Asia to get direct access to Tata Communications’ full suite of network services.”

The 52,000 square-foot Hillsboro data center is located 15 miles from downtown Portland. With a full 2N+1 UPS design, it can support client loads of 325 watts per square foot to accommodate power-intensive applications. In addition, the facility is part of Digital Realty’s West Coast portfolio that consists of 32 data centers across Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Oakland, San Francisco and Silicon Valley. Many of the company’s West Coast campuses are connected by Telx Metro Connect and the introduction of this new solution is expected to provide enterprises with a global connectivity bridge to a unique network of densely connected ecosystems.

“The continued support for network optionality in the Pacific Northwest is a result of persistent growth in the region,” said Tony Rossabi, Managing Director of Digital Realty’s Telx line of business. “This exciting new partnership allows Digital Realty and Tata Communications to provide our customers with a strengthened Internet Gateway in a world-class co-location environment.”
