NEW DELHI: Ericsson India today celebrated the 108th International Women’s Day (IWD) at its Gurugram office. With a broad theme of “Be Bold for Change”, the event hosted internationally acclaimed wrestlers Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat who shared their real life experiences of overcoming obstacles to make a mark in a conventionally male dominated sport. The IWD celebrations also saw participation from a huge number of Ericsson India employees.
Speaking at the event, Paolo Colella, Head of Region India, Ericsson, said, “Diversity and Inclusion continues to be a big focus for us at Ericsson since we believe diverse teams are high-performing teams. We want all employees to introspect on this International Women’s Day on how they can make their personal contribution to making the workplace more inclusive.” Phogat sisters added “No single day should be reserved for celebrating Women’s day rather we should progress and create an environment where every day should be Women’s Day”
To further raise awareness on diversity and inclusion, Ericsson has a special program – ‘Blue River Project’. As part of this program, the Company regularly invites leaders and achievers to share their thoughts with its employees on the topic of Diversity and Inclusion and making the workplace more inclusive.
