NEW DELHI: India’s home grown messaging platform Hike Messenger has received tremendous response on its latest offering -- Games -- the beta version of which was launched on Android to serve 2 million Hike users on March 9, 2016.
The press release says that within 26 days of the beta launch, games on Hike has reached a milestone of a 100 million game-plays across 5 classic games that are available on the platform, viz. Snake, Solitaire, Chess, Word Rush and Sudoku. Players are spending over an astounding 20 minutes on an average per day playing these games.
Users on Hike can launch these games with just one tap and play them right inside Hike. A built in Social experience enables gamers to share scores and challenge friends, adding to the fun and engagement.
Hike says that all games are optimized to support a wide range of handsets, especially the low-end segment smartphones with truncated bandwidth speeds. They are built light to consume minimum storage space ─ each game is a few hundred KB in size; the smallest, a mere 300 KB and the largest, 491 KB ─ yet they do not compromise on an awesome gaming experience.
Commenting on the beta success of Games, Kavin Bharti Mittal, Founder and CEO, Hike Messenger said, “We’re thrilled that Hikers are loving Games on Hike! We’re still in beta but the response has been tremendous with a 100 million plays in less than 30 days. We’ve really just launched simple, bite-sized classics like Snake and Word Rush that users are able to enjoy without leaving their core social and messaging experience. The tiny size of games on Hike enables everyone to enjoy them regardless of the capability of their smartphones; and clearly users are lapping them up!”
Hike is currently hiring some top talent in its Games Studio in order to build great gaming experiences on the platform for its users.
