As the country strives to strengthen its domestic manufacturing footprint, Vision Summit 2016 under the theme ‘Indian Semiconductor and ESDM Ecosystem: Scaling Up For $400B Make in India Opportunity’ will focus on the immediate opportunities in the domestic manufacturing ESDM sector. The two-day event will feature a formidable line-up of industry experts, government officials, strategists, policy makers and business leaders, offering their views and visions.

Gearing up for Vision Summit 2016, M N Vidyashankar, President, IESA said, “It is really commendable to witness how India has strengthened its position as the manufacturing destination. India’s aggressive initiatives towards ‘Make in India’ program has helped the nation to create the desired branding, and now it is for the industry to rise to the occasion. We are glad to focus on Vision Summit 2016 as a platform to define the next level of opportunities rather than reinventing the same wheel.”

“Investment in the electronics manufacturing sector has jumped over six-fold to reach Rs 1.14 lakh crore in 2015. This definitely brings a positive momentum in the industry and reinstates the fact that ‘Make in India’ has started bringing investment to the nation along with creation of employment opportunities. IESA has been quite instrumental in developing international partnerships through MoU signing with nations like Taipei, Japan, Singapore etc. and also, making an effort to build a talent house to address the ESDM requirements,” he further added.

Vision Summit 2016 will focus on the automotive industry as the industry has strong export growth expectations for the near future, hence will bring immense opportunities to the electronics segment. The event will also emphasize on the possible contribution of women entrepreneurs in the growth of ESDM and how Skilling and Entrepreneurship will help India to achieve the goal of ‘Net Zero Imports by 2020’ in the electronics space. The Summit also adds another tangent in the ESDM space with High Performance Computing (HPC).

With ‘Make in India’ evolved as the most encouraging push in the Indian ESDM Ecosystem, IESA has teamed up with IoTBLR with the support from Intel & TCS for MAKEATHON – a platform which will identify the most disruptive ideas in the IoT space aptly themed ‘IoTBLR Connected Devices Makeathon’.
