Jio offers 4-day unlimited package to customers in flood-stricken Assam

Reliance Jio provides complimentary four-day unlimited package to customers in Assam’s flood-hit districts. Jio on Friday extended the offer as a “goodwill gesture” to its customers in districts of Dima Hasao, Karbi Anglong east, Karbi Anglong west, Hojai and Cachar. Unlimited free calls to any network, data services up to 1.5 GB per day, and 100 SMS per day for four days are included in the gratis services.

Reliance Jio, in a message sent to customers in Assam said: “During last few days your service experience was impacted due to extreme weather conditions. As a goodwill gesture, we have applied a complimentary four-day unlimited plan on your number.”

Floods and landslides prompted by the state’s constant rains have affected over 6.62 lakh people across 27 districs in Assam. More than 48,000 people have taken refuge in 135 relief camps across the state, while 113 distibution centres have been set up across Assam to guarantee that critical supplies do not fall short in the flood-affected areas.

Jio also mentioned that the company stands firmly with its customers in these testing times. It said: “To help them stay in touch with their loved ones and remain connected, Jio has extended a complimentary 4 days unlimited voice & data pack along with 100 free SMS per day.”

The state has been placed on red alert by the IMD. The network is down in certain locations, making customers uncontactable, while in other areas, users are unable to recharge due to travel restrictions.
