NEW DELHI: The 19th edition of India’s flagship IT and Electronics event BengaluruITE.biz 2016 will be organized from November 28 th to 30 th , 2016 at Bengaluru Palace Grounds.
The event is moving back to The Bengaluru Palace and is expected to be bigger, better and a lot more engaging. The event is being organized by the Department of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, in association with Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) Bengaluru, with the support of reputed national industry associations like NASSCOM, IESA, TIE and ABAI.
The theme for this year’s BengaluruITE.biz is ‘DEFINE THE NEXT’ . Bengaluru has emerged as the technology capital of India holding a leadership position in not just Information technology but also in Bio-technology, animation, innovation etc. Bengaluru is poised to lead the next big leap in the technology space due to its inherent strengths like availability of highly skilled manpower, presence of institutions involved in cutting edge research, and a thriving startup ecosystem, to name just a few. The event will therefore focus on Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Robotics, Big Data, Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), Electronics System Design, Animation, Visual Effects and Gaming, Apps Development,
Startups, Entrepreneurship Development etc in the conference sessions as well as in the exhibition. For the first time, Science Gallery, Bengaluru would be exhibiting on the theme, “The Entanglement-a dance between Art and Science “in the exhibition arena of the event.
The year’s keynote speakers incude Bhaskar Ghosh, Group Chief Executive, Accenture Technology Services, Anant Maheshwari, President, Microsoft India, Kunal Shah, Founder and CEO, FreeCharge, Nivruti Rai, GM, India and VP, Intel Corporation etc.
Seven countries including Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Israel, Netherlands - The Hague, Germany and Australia are participating in the event.
A special session is being organized on the first day of the event to showcase the potential of on two tier cities in Karnataka like Mysuru, Belgavi, Hubli-Dharwad, Kalaburagi and Mangaluru to emerge as next destinations to propel growth in IT, Electronics etc.
A full day track with specialised technical sessions on Use of Geospatial Technology and Applications is being conducted by Karnataka State Remote Sensing Applications Center (KSRSAC) on 30th November 2016 with the theme "NEXT GENERATION APPLICATIONS USING GIS". The various themes and unique case studies of implementation in the areas of Agriculture, Urban, Forest, Transport, Land records management, location intelligence and analytics and future technology trends, etc shall be presented. The best of the global industry experts, Academia and Government agencies who have implemented state-of-the-art Geo-Spatial technologies and best management practices are expected to share their experiences.
Keeping in with the theme of the event, Day-1 of the event, branded as Lead Next , focuses on Technology Leadership; Day-2 of the event, branded as Tech Next , will focus on the Emerging and Futuristic Technologies and Day-3 of the event, branded as Start Next will focus on Startups and Entrepreneurial ecosystem.
STPI will be conducting the prestigious IT export awards event on 29th Nov 2016 to recognize the performance of the IT, ITES and EHTP companies under 10 Major Awards Category with 24 sub-categories. Awards to top ICT exporting companies, best employers, best emerging companies etc, will also be given during the event. Additionally, for the first time, the department of IT,BT and ST is also giving away Startup Karnataka Top Tech25 awards on 30 November, 2016.
A special attraction is expected to be the Fireside Chat on ‘Industrial Digital Transformation’ in association with NASSCOM , conducted by C.P. Gurnani Chairman, NASSCOM and MD & CEO, Tech Mahindra. The panellist for this chat will be Jim Fowler Global CIO, GE.
An additional feature of this years’ ITE.biz is the co-location of Creativity World Forum-2016 with the theme, “Cities in Transition.” World Creativity forum is an annual conference organized by the District of Creativity (DC) Network, with Creativity and Innovation Platform of Karnataka (CIPK). The CWF rotates yearly between DC regions and bring together progressive thinkers, experts, inventors, practitioners, innovators, thought leaders and entrepreneurs from all over the world on a single platform to engage, unite and inspire individuals to work together across disciplines to ideate and develop new solutions to critical issues in improving regional economy and quality of life.
Priyank Kharge, Minister for IT, BT and Tourism, highlighted the fact that this year’s ITE.biz is expected to be of a bigger scale and scope compared to the past.
