Last year, the Department of Telecom (DoT) and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI)  had approved the MVNO licensing process.

"We are going to launch Lyca Mobile in India. It will be through MVN (mobile virtual network). We will launch our service after getting the MVNO license", Lyca Group Chairman Subaskaran told reporters here.

Lyca Mobile already offers international SIM cards to Indian customers who plan to travel overseas.

Last month, Adpay, the digital payment provider's telecom service Aerovoyce had formally launched its operations with the launch of international SIM and internet service.

Elaborating on the service to be offered through MVNO, Subaskaran said that the company offers telecom service in 22 countries and customers need not pay "roaming charges" when they use Lyca Mobile in such countries.
