Spirent launches 5G FWA testing services

Spirent Communications has unveiled its new 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) testing services, aimed at helping communications service providers (CSPs) and device manufacturers enhance customer experience. The services offer lab-based 5G/Wi-Fi gateway testing and live network competitive benchmarking, allowing CSPs to optimise quality of experience (QoE) and differentiate their services in an increasingly competitive market.

The rapid adoption of 5G FWA has created an increased demand for thorough network performance evaluations. Over 200 CSPs have launched home services, and 20 CSPs have rolled out 5G FWA business offerings. Spirent's new services cater to this growing demand by providing advanced testing solutions that deliver critical insights into user experience, enabling operators to drive revenue growth while ensuring higher levels of customer satisfaction.

Stephen Douglas, Head of Market Strategy at Spirent, said that 5G FWA presents an opportunity for CSPs to diversify their revenue streams. He highlighted that prioritising the testing of user experience could save service providers, device vendors, and network vendors millions of dollars in troubleshooting costs by identifying issues early in the development cycle.

Spirent’s offerings leverage its established methodologies and cloud-based measurement systems, enabling service providers and vendors to optimise their services for premium QoE delivery. The solutions also allow for confidential and reliable benchmarking of competitive services, which supports performance claim validation. By combining expertise in both lab and live environments, Spirent’s 5G FWA testing services help customers accelerate their 5G network deployments, optimise performance, and maximise monetisation.
