NEW DELHI: Vietnamese mobile network operator Vinaphone has signed 3G network deal with Nokia Networks.
Vietnamese operator aims to significantly enhances Vinaphone's network coverage and doubles peak download speeds to 42 Mbps.
Under the contract, telecom equipment makers delivered its Single RAN radio access network, core network elements, partner products and services expertise to bolster VNPT - Net's infrastructure serving Vinaphone 3G services.

Currently, Nokia Networks has 210 3G radio customers and serves more than 1 billion global subscribers in its 3G networks.
Recently, Chinese telecom giant ZTE has awarded with an exclusive contract by Vinaphone for radio spectrum refarming, to optimise services and facilitate future network planning in central Vietnam, and project is expected to complete in 2016
Vietnam has the third smallest telecom market in the Asia-Pacific region and is estimated to generate telecom revenue of $10.1bn at the end of 2020.
