NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Narendra Modi government has implemented a massive reshuffle in cabinet portfolio with appointment of Manoj Sinha as new telecom minister and replacing Ravi Shankar Prasad with additional charge of Law and Justice ministry.
Sinha will take charge as new telecom Minister at 3;30 pm today.
But Prasad will continue as Electronics & Information Technology minister including additional in charge of Law and Justice ministry.
On the other hand, Sinha continue as Minister of State for Railways including his new role as telecom minister of India.
Sinha (born July 1, 1959 in Bhumihar Brahmin Family Mohanpura, Ghazipur District, India) was a member of Lok Sabha, the lower house in the Indian Parliament. He is a member of the BJP and represents the Ghazipur District.
He has an M. Tech. in civil engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. He was the President of the Banaras Hindu University Students Union in1982.
From 1989-1996, he was a member of the National Council. In 1996, he was elected to Lok Sabha and again in 1999. He was among the most best performing Member of Parliament of 13th Lok Sabha with a very high attendance and asked many questions on various topics related to public welfare.
