NEW DELHI: Qualcomm has launched Snapdragon 616, 412 and 212 processors which are the successors of Snapdragon 615, 410 and 210 processors, respectively. These upgraded System on Chips (SoCs) are targeted for entry-level and mid-range smartphones.
These SoCs are based on 28nm fabrication process and will come with a slight bump in clock speed and support for 4G LTE networks.
The Snapdragon 616, it is a 64-bit octa-core chipset having two quad-core clusters of ARM Cortex-A53 cores, one clocked slightly higher at 1.7GHz and the other running at 1.2GHz.
This chipset will have Adreno 405 GPU, support for full HD (1980x1080 pixels) display and QuickCharge 2.0.
Talking about Snapdragon 412, it is a quad-core SoC with Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.4GHz along with Adreno 306 GPU. This has support for 13.5-megapixel camera sensors, QuickCharge 2.0 and 4G LTE.
The Snapdragon 212 is a quad-core SoC with Cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.3GHz. This chipset includes support for 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.1 BLE and camera sensors up to 8-megapixel with full HD video recording.
