NEW DELHI: Canadian-based Redknee Solutions said that it has that it has won a multi-million dollar contract to upgrade a major Tier 1 communication service provider (CSP) in Europe to the latest release of the Redknee Unified Application Server, part of Redknee’s monetization and subscriber management suite.
Redknee Unified is deployed in the CSP’s virtualized data center and supports more than 30 million subscribers. Redknee Unified Application Server provides open API’s to enable the rapid development of new applications.
The upgrade enhances the solution with IMS, SIP, and Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) support and improves the customer experience for the enterprise and consumer markets.
"Communication service providers are moving quickly to adopt VoLTE, to migrate existing telco services, such as parallel ringing and call hunting, to SIP-based platforms, and to launch new and innovative services. To effectively compete in today’s market service providers must create and evolve their services quickly and cost effectively for enterprise and consumer markets, including such services as fleet management, prepaid Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE), and Internet of Things (IoT) applications," the company said in a statement.
"The Redknee Unified Application Server provides a service creation environment (SCE) for a CSP to develop, augment, and roll out new services quickly. The platform enables service providers to generate new revenue sources across enterprise and consumer markets without the need for lengthy development cycles," it said.

Using a common core framework, the applications work with any service in the operator’s product portfolio, including telephony, cable, VoLTE, Voice-over-Wifi (VoWIFI) and value-added services such as mobile TV and IoT. Redknee Unified is virtualized and cloud enabled, allowing the CSP to run the solution on its cloud platform and ensuring a low total cost of ownership," it added.
