Reliance Communications added more than 1 million 4G customers: Anil Ambani

NEW DELHI: Reliance Communications (RCom) CMD Anil Ambani said that in just 90 days of offering 4G services, company has crossed 1 million customers using more than 1 GB data monthly.

"RCom has the ability to offer Gold-standard LTE 4G services pan-India. Every effort to reap synergies, lower costs & be capital light has been achieved with this virtual RCom-RJio merger," said Ambani at the annual general meeting of Reliance Communications.

"RCom and Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJio) have virtually merged with their agreement signing, sharing spectrum, network, fibre, voice & towers," he added.

"RCom has followed Dhirubhai Ambani's philosophy of "looking for opportunity in every adversity," he said.

"Security and reliability will never be a concern for customers, with over a million square feet of Internet Data Centres.Paper-based forms are on the way out. Welcome to the era of convenience, with E-KYC everywhere," he said.

"Electronic and online channels are overwhelmingly pushing away physical channels. It's time to embrace the future.The Internet generation needs one recharge for a comprehensive Voice+Data+VAS Plan, and that's what Reliance offers," Ambani.

"Our 3G customers have more than doubled over the last year. We'd like to thank each & every one of them," he added.

"FY2016 saw us earning Rs. 22,113 Cr. in revenue, with Shareholders' Equity of Rs. 36,866 crore and 300 Million Smartphones in Indian hands point to a bright and connected future," Ambani said.

"We're spearheading India's telecom revolution, making phone calls more affordable than postcards," he added.

"RCom proved itself by turning consolidator instead of being consolidated, as people were imagining them to be. RCom's 4G spectrum is long duration (more than 20 years) on a lower band,capital efficient & offering high quality service," he said.

"Post merger, RCom and Aircel will be among top operators in 12 important Indian cities, catering to 2G, 3G and 4G users. RCom Wireless, Aircel & MTS will be the 3rd largest telecom provider in the country, creating long term shareholder value," he added.

"Anil Ambani and  Mukesh Ambani are working hand in hand to create the India that Shri Dhirubhai Ambani dreamt of. We're a young, dynamic group born out of competition with incumbent, government and  MNC players in every industry we're present," he said.

"We'll grow with our shareholders, doing our best to carry them with us in every possible way. We are at an advanced stage of monetisation of our tower business. We are looking forward to reducing the existing company debt by 75%, by next year," said Ambnai.

"RCom will see a debt reduction of Rs. 20,000 crore the largest ever by an Indian company. RCom Aircel MergedCo will have an asset base of Rs. 65,000 crore and net worth of Rs. 35,000 crore post merger," he added.
