MUMBAI: Chairman of Tata Sons, N Chandrasekaran has today made a significant appointment by naming Saurabh Agarwal as the new Chief Financial Officer of the 100 billion-worth industry conglomerate.
An alumnus of IIT Roorkee and IIM Calcutta, Saurabh Agrawal, 40, has a record in both strategy and execution covering a wide range of industries. He joins Tata Sons from the Aditya Birla Group, where he the post as Head of Strategy. Before that, he has been Head of the Corporate Finance Unit of Standard Chartered Bank in India and South Asia, and the Head of the Investment Banking Division in DSP Merrill Lynch.
Welcoming Agrawal, the Chairman of Tata Sons, N Chandrasekaran, said, “He brings deep capital markets knowledge and valuable cross-industry experience to this critical leadership role in the Tata group. His expertise will help us in driving rigor and synergy in capital allocation decisions, investment management as well as consolidation and optimization of the group’s business portfolio. Agrawal is a graduate of the, and has a post-graduate management degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
