BENGALURU: NASDAQ–listed Akamai Technologies Inc has launched the Akamai One Startup Program in Asia Pacific and Japan. The Akamai One program is designed to empower start-ups to focus on growing their businesses without worrying about the complexity of delivering fast, reliable and secure online experiences for their users.
The program makes available Akamai’s industry-leading Web and Mobile Performance solutions to startups in sectors such as travel, e-commerce, high tech and digital media. Under the program, independent startups and accelerators can leverage Akamai’s services and technologies for a year with no integration or recurring costs.
The company believes that the expanding startup landscape in Asia Pacific and Japan has captured US $9.4 billion in venture capital funding across a total of 436 investments in the first quarter of 2015 — signaling a need for a secure, reliable and productive cloud environment to do business to compete and stand apart from the competition.

Under Akamai One, participating startups have access to one year’s worth of Akamai’s Web and Mobile Performance solutions that are designed to: reduce IT costs and extend web infrastructure by leveraging the Akamai Intelligent Platform; deliver responsive user experiences with Akamai's Front End Optimizations (FEO); optimize for both cellular and Wi-Fi connections with Enhanced Mobile Protocol technology; and gain key audience insight in real time with Real User Monitoring (RUM).
Akamai has partnered with incubators such as BlueChilli in Australia, SparkLabs in Korea, and TLabs in India to help startups succeed by providing products and resources that allow the startups to focus on their core business goals. These partnerships align with Akamai and the incubators’ pursuit of entrepreneurship and innovation while navigating the challenges and opportunities through a fast, reliable and secure Internet.
