NEW DELHI: Indian cable to telecoms giant Sterlite Technologies has appointed Swati Rangachari as its new Chief of Corporate Affairs.

Rangachari brings to Sterlite a deep understanding of public policy and industry relations that will drive synergies with the Government’s vision of a developed nation, and support sustained growth of the Broadband Infrastructure Industry. Based in Delhi NCR, Rangachari is a member of Sterlite’s Executive Council, and will lead government affairs related to public policy, industry strategy and engagement.

“Rangachari’s leadership and experience in policy matters is well-timed with Sterlite’s ambitious plans to create efficient communication infrastructures in India and globally,” said, Dr. Anand Agarwal, CEO, Sterlite Technologies.

“Her engagement is pivotal to our commitment towards critical government programmes such as Digital India, BharatNet, Smart Cities, Make in India, amongst others,” added Dr. Agarwal.

Rangachari’s experience spans key leadership positions including her former assignments as Senior Director of Corporate Affairs, Visa India & South Asia, and Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Ericsson India. She comes with over 20 years of experience in government and industry relations, communications and brand visibility in high-intensity growth markets.

She has held leadership positions in Telecom, Financial Services, Aerospace and IT sectors. On the academic front, she holds a Masters in International Management from Fore School of Management and an executive programme from Boston University.
