Tata Communications, Cisco Expand Partnership

The companies have partnered before, and this development sees their 20-year-old relationship continue. Under the new agreement, Tata Communications and Cisco Meraki will work together to provide enterprises with IT infrastructure for delivering access.

The companies said in a joint statement that Cisco Meraki and Tata Communications will offer a suite of Wi-Fi services based on the latest WiFi 6 and SD-WAN services across industries. The companies added that the partnership will ensure "smoother lifecycle management and superior user experience to the enterprises’ stakeholders with greater security, efficiency, and agility".

The combined power of Tata Communications and Cisco Meraki enables enterprises to offer solutions such as guest Wi-Fi authentication services and location-based analytics across sectors.

Genius Wong, Chief Technology Officer, Tata Communications, said, "we believe the converging LAN and WAN protocols with better wireless and software-defined technologies is imperative for enterprises’ digital transformation journeys". He added, "we are happy to further enhance our offerings to enable enterprises as they manage the growing demand of their business transformation in the new paradigm".

Jason W. Gallo, Vice President, Cisco Global Partner Sales, said, "Meraki's cloud architecture and ease of management, combined with Tata Communications managed services capabilities and reach, will help create new services with more network visibility and remote troubleshooting for deployments of any size".

The companies added that the companies will allow enterprises to manage their networks more efficiently, along with greater mobility and centralized control of an enterprise’s IT environment. The solution has a "smaller device footprint", and will be "scalable", they said.
