One of the biggest DTH (Direct-to-Home) service providers in India, Tata Play, is the first to offer its users 100 HD (High-Definition) channels. Additionally, all 44 of the DD (Doordarshan) channels have been added to the company's platform. At this time, no other DTH service provider in India has followed suit. Only the recently launched GSAT-24 satellite, which provided Tata Play with more capacity to serve clients with more channels, could have made this possible.
Customers of Tata Play can now access 100 HD channels across 17 categories. Tata Play now has 50% more satellite bandwidth thanks to the new satellite launch. Currently, Tata Play has 36 transponders, more than any other operator.
"We have always been dedicated to providing our subscribers with the highest quality picture and sound to meet their ever-increasing infotainment needs. Now that we have more HD channels to offer our audience, we would strongly advise the broadcasters to do the same," stated Tata Play's MD and CEO, Harit Nagpal.
Tata Play claims to have always taken the initiative to provide clients with cutting-edge offerings. The only DTH service provider currently offering Netflix-bundled OTT (over-the-top) channel packs is Tata Play. In addition, the business offers Tata Play Binge, an OTT platform that is available to everybody, independent of Tata Play customer status.
Customers of Tata Play may upgrade to the Tata Play Binge+ STB (Set-Top Box) or buy it for their TV entertainment needs. Customers can watch linear TV material and over-the-top (OTT) entertainment on the go using that STB. If they have a subscription to the company's services, viewers can watch live TV on the move with the help of the Tata Play mobile app.
