MUMBAI: Global IT services company, Tata Consultancy Services and electronics giant Siemens has unveiled a new collaboration around Internet of Things (IoT) innovation.
Focused on customers in the manufacturing, energy, building technology, healthcare and railway industries the partnership will enable TCS customers to leverage from new data insights and services based on MindSphere, the cloud-based, open IoT operating system from Siemens
Customers will benefit from new applications for MindSphere by TCS, enabling new digital and analytical services such as predictive maintenance and energy monitoring. Siemens MindSphere and TCS solutions will enable customers to explore new models that capitalize on IoT innovation and realize the opportunities presented by the digital economy.

Through this partnership, TCS will also support developments around MindConnect Nano, the cloud gateway that can be used to connect production to cloud-based analysis of machine and production data. In addition, this new partnership will see Siemens and TCS work to explore implementing the MindSphere core platform, including operation and support services such as application and infrastructure management as well as analytical and testing services.
Drawing on TCS’ experience, the company will offer MindSphere applications as well as digital and analytical services, which the company believes that it can reduce downtime, maintenance related costs and energy consumption, while increasing the lifetime of their machinery.
This new collaboration will see TCS apply its breadth and depth of expertise across technology areas such as automation, IoT and connectivity with a focus on execution for brown field implementations in varied environments.
