BENGALURU: As one among the three companies from India, for the second year in a row, Tech Mahindra Ltd has been selected as an index component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) to make it to the DJSI World Index.
S&P Dow Jones Indices, one of the world’s leading providers of financial market indices, and RobecoSAM, the investment specialist focused exclusively on Sustainability Investing, today announced the results of the annual Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) review.
The company is one amongst the only 3 Indian companies to make it to the DJSI World Index and one amongst 10 companies from India making it to the DJSI Emerging markets category, and also one that retained its position in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index under both the categories.
Launched in 1999, the DJSI World is the gold standard for corporate sustainability and the first global index to track the leading sustainability-driven companies based on RobecoSAM’s analysis of financially relevant Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors and S&P DJI’s robust index methodology. RobecoSAM invited the world’s largest 3,400 companies from developed and emerging markets to take part in its annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA).
Sandeep Chandna, Chief Sustainability Officer, Tech Mahindra said, “The DJSI ranking is a vindication of Tech Mahindra’s commitment to implement sustainability in all aspects of the company. Our corporate strategy of dealing with our associates, our environment and our business partners all reflect our commitment to being a sustainable organization and we are happy to be recognized and included in one of the biggest sustainability review platform.”
