TLF: Himanshu Kapania bags telco person of the year award

NEW DELHI: It was an august gathering when who's who of the telecom industry gathered under one roof at the Telecom Leadership Forum 2015 here.

Enlightening sessions took place as panelists discussed topics from 'The Telco of Tomorrow' to 'Smart Cities.' The discussions were followed by the award function, where Himanshu Kapania, Managing Director, Idea Cellular, was conferred with the Telecom person of the year award. The Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred to TV Ramachandran, former Director General, COAI.

In his key note addess, Akhil Gupta, Founder & Chairman, Bharti Enterprises spoke about 10 leadership mantras for any CEO of a company.

In the session 'The Telco of Tomorrow', it was discussed that collaboration is important for telcos with the OTT players to remain competitive in the future. The smart cities discussion concluded with the requirments for setting up a smart city project.

The annual meeting of the Indian telecom leaders and other key stakeholders, Telecom Leadership Forum (TLF) is a platform to meet, discuss, and explore new and emerging business models, technology options, revenue streams and changing customer expectations.

The objective is to help telco leaders grow business with better and newer services.

There were 25 eminent speakers and 200 telecom leaders. The speakers this time included Akhil Gupta, Vice Chairman, Bharti Enterprises, Sanjay Kapoor, Chairman, Micromax, among others.
