NEW DELHI: Cab aggregator Uber said that it has appointed Vishpala Reddy as the Chief People’s Officer for India and South Asia.
With deep HR expertise of 17+ years across leading organizations, Vishpala will further accelerate the company’s efforts to position human capital as a key driver in enabling business success at Uber.
In her new role, Vishpala will focus on building a dynamic workplace that attracts the best talent, strengthening the leadership capability and enabling innovative people practices to support the growing workforce needs.
Furthermore, as a senior woman leader, she will champion Uber India’s diversity and inclusion agenda by developing programmes to foster an equal opportunity workplace at Uber.
On her appointment as the Chief People’s Officer, India and South Asia, Uber, Vishpala Reddy said, “I’m incredibly thrilled to join Uber and be a part of the company’s vision to redefine urban mobility and drive transformative growth in India and South Asia. Prior to joining Uber, Vishpala was Vice President and the Head of HR for American Express in India. During her 12-year stint with the company, she held diverse roles in HR and played a critical role in driving the transformation of the India business, introduced proactive measures and programs that helped position Amex as an employer of choice. Known for her passion to lead innovative and sustainable HR practices with measurable impact, Vishpala has been honoured with external recognition for her contributions and being a thought leader.
Before joining American Express, Vishpala worked with Hewitt Associates as a senior consultant working extensively in the area of performance and rewards and prior to that, she had started her career with Cognizant Technologies.
Vishpala played an active role as a board member of the national executive board of NHRDN (National HR Development Network) 2016-17 and has also led their Young Minds Advisory Board. Known to champion various diversity and inclusion inclusion initiatives, she actively advocates for developing women leaders from various walks of life.
She lives in Gurgaon with her husband, Himanshu, and their two kids - Agastya and Aryaman. When not at work, Vishpala loves reading fiction, travelling, watching movies and gardening.
