Vi Launches Four New 3 GB Per Day Data Plans with OTT Subscriptions

Vodafone Idea Limited, also known as Vi, have launched three separate 3GB per day plans, with 28, 56 and 84 days of validity. Moreover, the telco is offering subscriptions to Disney+Hotstar VIP, ZEE5 and Vi Movies and TV. These plans will compete with Reliance Jio's and Airtel's plans with similar benefits and price points. Interestingly, India's third largest telecom operator is the first to bring out 3 GB/day plans for all three lengths of validity.

Vi's Four Data + Subscription Plans

Vodafone Idea have 4 plans, with two at around the Rs. 400-mark and the rest at Rs. 601 and Rs. 801, for 56 days and 84 days of validity respectively. Jio has two plans like these at Rs. 401 and Rs. 999 and Airtel does at Rs. 398 and Rs. 558, while Vi has plans across the board, in a first.

Plans with 28 Days Validity

The first plan is priced at Rs. 401. The benefits are as follows:

• 3GB/day for 28 days, plus an additional 16 GB of data.
• Unlimited Voice and 100 SMS/day
• 1 year subscription to Disney+Hotstar VIP
• Access to Vi Movies and TV
• Weekend Data Rollover and Unlimited high-speed nighttime internet.

This plan is in competition with Reliance Jio's Rs. 401 data plan and Airtel's Rs. 398 data plan. Jio's plan is the same except it does not feature any rollovers of nighttime data. However, Airtel's plan does not feature any streaming services but does offer Rs. 150 cashback on FASTag transaction.

Vodafone Idea's second plan is close enough at Rs. 501. This plan has the following benefits:

• 3GB/day for 28 days, plus an additional 6 GB of data
• Unlimited Voice and 100 SMS/day
• 1 year subscription to ZEE5 Premium
• Access to Vi Movies and TV
• Weekend Data Rollover and Unlimited high-speed nighttime internet

This is another option for people who would like a different OTT subscription.

Plans with 56 Days of Validity

Jio does not offer a plan at this point. Vi's Rs. 601 plan has the following benefits:

• 3GB/day for 56 days, plus an additional 16 GB of data
• Unlimited Voice and 100 SMS/day
• 1 year subscription to Disney+Hotstar VIP
• Access to Vi Movies and TV
• Weekend Data Rollover and Unlimited high-speed nighttime internet

Comparatively, Airtel's Rs. 558 plan offered the same voice and data benefits (sans the extra data). Furthermore, Vi Movies and TV is replaced by Airtel's own XStream service and Disney+Hotstar VIP by Prime Video Mobile Edition and Wynk Music.

Plans with 84 Days of Validity

Now, Airtel does not offer any plans at this point. However, Voda-Idea's Rs. 801 plan comes with the following benefits:

• 3GB/day for 84 days, plus an additional 16 GB of data
• Unlimited Voice and 100 SMS/day
• 1 year subscription to Disney+Hotstar VIP
• Access to Vi Movies and TV
• Weekend Data Rollover and Unlimited high-speed nighttime internet

Incidentally, Reliance Jio's Rs. 999 plan has no streaming benefits, just the data benefits and subscription to Jio apps.
