Vi might introduce its 5G network in Delhi soon suggests report

Ashwini Vaishnaw, the minister of communications, has asked telecoms to roll-out 5G services following the Department of Telecom's allocation of 5G spectrum.

According to a report by 91 mobiles, Vodafone Idea could soon activate its 5G network in Delhi/NCR since the carrier has begun network upgrading. The report said that the telecom operator revealed this through its SMS message that read, "Great News! The Vi network is being 5G updated! Your network experience will now be enhanced, and soon you will have access to our Vi network's better coverage and lightning-fast Internet in Delhi-NCR."

The news comes after Bharti Airtel declared that 5000 major cities have had their 5G coverage plans finalised and that a roll-out across the country will be finished by March 2024.Reliance Industries Limited, claims that Reliance Jio, which is also the industry leadr in among telcos, has coverage planning finished for 1000 cities.

Although there is no set schedule for the roll-out of 5G, it is anticipated that the services could be made available between October and December. Delhi will be one of the 12 cities where 5G will be introduced first along with Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Gurugram, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Jamnagar, Kolkata, and Lucknow.
