VIAVI Supplies XL Axiata for 5G with Remote Fiber Test and Monitoring

In a press release on Thursday, Viavi Solutions announced that it has partnered with XL Axiatia, a network operator in Indonesia. The gear maker added that the network operator is using the VIAVI ONMSi Optical Network Management System.

According to the gear maker, the remote testing and monitoring capabilities of its solution will allow delivering peak performance. What's more, it also helps minimize downtime and optimize the user experience. Notably, XL Axiata has been working to deploy 5G networks.

In the statement, the gear maker mentioned XL Axiata's plans to deploy 5G networks. It further noted the importance of fiber networks in backhaul to serve as transport from the edge to the core. It added that XL Axiata went with Viavi's platform to optimize its operations and to deliver the best user experience. The ONMSi, according to the gear maker, lets the telco centralize network management and real-time visibility. This in turn allows the telco to automatically locate fiber faults and degradations, significantly improving performance and uptime.

On the occasion, Rajesh Rao, Vice President, Asia-Pacific, and Japan, VIAVI, said, “the provision of remote fiber test and monitoring solutions to XL Axiata further strengthens our long-standing relationship with the Axiata group, complementing their use of VIAVI test and validation solutions for mobile networks”.
