Mumbai: Helped by premium data services, Vodafone India registered a 15% organic growth in revenue in the quarter ended December 2014, outpacing its group counterparts.
Organic service revenue, which takes out items like handset sales and forex fluctuations, at the local unit of UK's Vodafone Group rose to £1.1 billion (Rs 10,786 crore).
The rate of overall decline marked an improvement on the 1.5 per cent fall in the second quarter and a forecast drop of 0.7 per cent.
In the last six quarters, the group had recorded falls in the main revenue measurement of between 4- 5 per cent as consumers in Europe cut back on using their phones and regulatory changes forced operators to cut their fees.
"We have achieved another quarter of improving revenue trends in most of our major markets," Chief Executive Vittorio Colao said.
The group is facing tough conditions in Europe and so launched a program to either build or buy superfast fixed-line broadband networks.
Vodafone has said fourth-generation mobile networks are now available in 18 markets, and it has 13.7 million 4G customers across the group.
