New Delhi: Sanjay Kapoor is a prominent face in Indian telecom industry and his recent exit from homegrown handset maker Micromax has raised a lot of questions.
If media reports are to be believed, differences in opinion is the key reason behind his exit. ET quoted Vikas Jain, Co-Founder of Micromax, as saying that:"There was a little differentiation of opinion, of style of operations."
Earlier, Kapoor served as the chief executive officer for India and South Asia for country's largest operator Bharti Airtel between March 2010 till May 2013. He is credited with making Bharti Airtel as the leading telecom player. He has also been a board and executive committee member of GSMA, Indus Towers.

Jain said: "When you get onto the board-level decisions, you need to get the board around those decisions. So there were differences of opinion, in terms of difference of approach I have being a board member and difference Sanjay has in terms of approach."
Kapoor joined Micromax in June 2014 adn was entrusted with the task with making the company as a global brand but challenges remain with respect to global expansion, differences in opinion with promoters and rising competition from rival Intex.
