WhatsApp India gets a head finally; Ezetap’s Abhijit Bose takes charge

Facebook-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp has hired Abhijit Bose, the co-Founder and CEO of Indian digital payments company Ezetap, to be the Head of its operations in India. The press statement from WhatsApp said that Bose will join the company in early 2019.

The company’s statement reveals that Bose and his team will focus on monetizing WhatsApp by helping businesses use the platform to connect with customers. Bose has been tasked with building the messaging platform’s first full country team outside its base in California, United States. The team will work out of Gurugram in Haryana, and will prioritize helping businesses connect with their customers.

Bose is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School and Cornell University. He has seventeen years of experience in product management, product marketing, and business development with expertise in software and mobile markets.
