The annual pay package for Wipro Chief Executive Director (CEO) and Managing Director (MD), Thierry Delaporte increased to a Rs 79.8 crore(10.51 million USD), in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2022, according to the company's annual report filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). As a result, he became the highest-paid executive in India's IT industry.
In the fiscal year 2020-21, Delaporte's yearly remuneration was 8.7 million USD (about Rs. 64.3 crore). His last fiscal year's remuneration covered the nine months of his service since he only joined the company in July 2020.
With 27 years of expertise in the IT services business , Thierry Delaporte has been the CEO and MD of Wipro since July 6, 2020. Before this he worked for Capegemini since 1995 in a variety of leadrship roles, including Chief Operating Officer (COO) among others, from September 2017 until May 2020.
In Fiscal year 2022, Salil Parekh, the CEO of Infosys, drew a total salary of Rs 71 crore, including stock options, whereas Rajesh Gopinathan, the CEO of India's top IT firm Tata Consultancy Services(TCS), received a pay of Rs 25.8 crore.
Wipro's consolidated profit increased by 4% touching 3,092.5 crore in the fourth quarter of 2022, in comparison to 2,974 crore during the same time the previous year.
