By expanding 4G coverage to places where no other telecom carrier presently has a signal, this network deployment plan will connect almost 3,000 villages in Himachal Pradesh
In Himachal Pradesh, BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) is all set to improve connectivity as part of the 4G Saturation project, which is financed by the Indian government. The Chief General Manager of BSNL, Himachal Pradesh, was mentioned in a Tribune India Report as saying that BSNL is building 625 new 4G towers as part of the 4G saturation initiative to improve connectivity in the area.
BSNL is in charge of ensuring connectivity in every remote location as part of the government’s 4G saturation plan. The Union Cabinet approved a project in 2022 to provide 4G mobile connections to all of the country’s disconnected villages.
By expanding 4G coverage to places where no other telecom carrier presently has a signal, this network deployment plan will connect almost 3,000 villages in Himachal Pradesh that have been waiting for dependable communication services for a very long time. High-speed 4G internet will soon be available in these isolated and under-served areas, bridging the digital gap. By the end of December, the project is supposed to be finished.
According to the Tribune India Report article, over 30,000 kilometres of optical fibre cable will be deployed across Himachal Pradesh as part of the BharatNet Project 3 to create a network connecting all villages and blocks and guaranteeing that all citizens have access to high-speed internet.
With the installation of 4G towers and the fibre cable built through BharatNet Project 3, BSNL plans to improve connectivity in Himachal Pradesh and usher in a new era of digital access for citizens throughout the state.
In August this year, The Jammu and Kashmir Government’s Revenue Department has issued an order dated August 25, 2023 in order to facilitate the land transfer to BSNL (a state-owned telco) for the purpose of enabling 4G mobile service saturation in formerly underserved villages throughout the region.
The 4G Saturation project began carrying out inFebruary 2023 after receiving Union Cabinet permission in July of the previous year. The government set aside Rs 26,316 crore from the Universal Service Obligation Fund to pay for this large-scale project. It is predicted that the project will be finished in 500 days.
